Rebel Football cruises past Oakland Riverside
The Rebel Football team moved to 3-0 with a 44-7 victory over the Bulldogs of Oakland Riverside. Hunter East led the Rebels with 5 touchdown runs. Tanner DeVries also reached the endzone on a 21 yard rush. Overall, East had 86 yards rushing and 105 yards passing, followed by DeVries' 64 rushing yards and Brad Steinhoff's 53 yards on the ground.
The Rebel defense was stellar, only allowing 119 yards on the ground. DeVries led the way with 8 tackles, three of them for a loss. The defense was able to force 4 turnovers with interceptions by Jakob Shattuck, Anthony McCullough, and Zach Ulven along with a fumble recovery by Tony Baker The next opponent for the Rebels will be Tri-Center Neola (2-1).
