The Westwood Wrestling Team picked up 2 dual wins on Monday night to improve to 5-1 on the season. The Rebels defeated Sioux City West 60-22 and West Sioux 48-32. An individual highlight on the night was 152lb Junior Drew Anderson picking up his 100th win of his career with a fall. Over the weekend, the varsity and jv wrestlers competed. The varsity squad finished 5th in the very competitive Sergeant Bluff Tournament. Drew Anderson picked up the championship at 152lbs, Brennan Brown finished 3rd, Jeremiah Adams and Nathan Payne finished 5th, finishing 7th were Braden Dean and Devin Thompson. 8th place finishes were recorded by Kody Gray, Andrew Donnelly, Jakob Shattuck and Dalton Craven.
JV Wrestlers competing in Audubon finished the day with a wining record include two individual championships. Markes Myers and Trenton Dirks picked up 1st place finishes. 2nd place finishes were achieved by Steven Baker, Zach Adams and Hunter Folsom. Caleb Festa, JT Gengler, Dillon LaBrune and Zane Schincke all finished 3rd.
The Westwood Wrestling team opened the conference dual season with two victories last night. The Rebels defeated West Monona 61-9 and defeated Woodbury Central 60-15 to move their conference record to 2-0 on the season and 3-1 overall for the year. 10 different wrestlers went undefeated on the night for the Rebels.
