Highlights:

• ​Westwood offers 676 more instructional minutes than the state average in the elementary. 
• Westwood offers 1,566 more instructional minutes than the state average in the secondary building.
• The attendance rate for K-12 has stayed steady for the last five years at 94%.
• All students in third grade have out performed state and AEA proficiency in reading over the last three years. 
• All students in fourth grade have out performed state and AEA proficiency in reading three out of the last five years. 
• All students in fifth grade have out performed AEA proficiency in reading the last five years and only missing the state by one year. 
• Low social-economic students in grades 3-8 and 11 have out performed state and AEA the last four years in reading.
• Minority students have out performed state and AEA proficiency four out of the last five years in reading. 
• All students in third and fourth grade have out performed state and AEA proficiency in math four out of the last five years.
• Students in seventh grade have out performed state and AEA proficiency in math the last five years. 
• The eleventh grade students in 2014 scored 91.89% proficient. A record high! 
• Low social-economic students in grades 3-8 and 11 have out performed state and AEA the last three years in math. 
• English Language Learner students in grades 3-8 and 11 have out performed state and AEA the last five years in math. 
• Minority students have out performed state and AEA proficiency four out of the last five years in math. 
• All students in third grade have out performed state and AEA proficiency in science over the last four years. 
• All students in fourth grade have out performed state and AEA proficiency in science four out of the last five years. 
• All students in fifth, sixth and seventh grade have out performed AEA proficiency in science the last three out of five years.

• Westwood offers 47 High School Carnegie Units which is 11 more than required by the state of Iowa.
