Mr. Jay D. Lutt is originally from Wayne, Nebraska where he graduated from Wayne High School. He attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney earning his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. While teaching near Wayne he finished his Masters of Science Education in Administrative Education. Mr. Lutt completed his Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership at Drake University.

Mr. Lutt became  a superintendent in July of 2002 at Farragut Community School District. In 2009 he started his dual role as superintendent of Farragut and Hamburg. In 2011 the districts entered into Whole Grade Sharing. In July of 2014 he started his role in Westwood as PK-3 Principal and Superintendent.

Mr. Lutt's wife works for a local business. Their daughter Emmilie is a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and works for the State of Nebraska in Lincoln. Their middle daughter Ellie is a graduate from Iowa State University and Denver University and works in Des Moines. Their son Jaxon lives in the Omaha area working with a local business. Mr. Lutt enjoys family activities, playing Frisbee with their dog, reading books especially by Lee Child or Stephen King, motorcycling, golfing, hunting and watching his favorite sports teams. His newest obsession is playing competitive Table Tennis.
